Reyn's at the other end of the couch. We haven't said anything in the last half an hour, just flip from channel to channel. Right now we're watching Scrubs, something we've gotten into the last few months. Over the last few years, I've really gotten close with my brother. I think it changed a few years back when we went to the homeland together (Ireland). Before I'm not sure I would have enjoyed this moment as much as I do now. We've gotten close enough where the times we don't say much seem to mean the most.

Bones is coming over in a bit, we'll probably go for a surf, despite how meager it looks out there. We'll probably just longboard. I always enjoy surfing with Bones and Reynnie, no matter how small it is. It would be nice if there was surf, but I'm sure that's not going to be a problem in a few days.

Good friends will come over tonight, I'll probably have a few beers with them as a send off. There'll be a few that don't show up, because this is a bit last second, but for the most part it will consist of people I really enjoy spending time with. I've been really lucky to find good friends, a surprising amount all things considered. I got lucky with family, my parents and brother are awesome, but I feel like I have a propensity to be able to stick around good people until they give in and like hanging around me too.

I've spent the last year working for this trip, and people are excited for me, but there will always be a small bit of sadness that comes with leaving great family and friends. I think one of the reasons that people get homesick is because they don't expect this or think its natural. I know that the first time I took off on a lengthy trip I was a bit more naive. I didn't know what to expect or how to react to the feelings I had. Now I know, that while I'm going, I'm just going to enjoy the fact that I have poeple that I miss. It's got to be way worse to miss people that don't exist.
